Plan the perfect family day out at our epic Wailea Canyon Activity Pool, take a serene dip in our adults-only Hibiscus Pool, or relax on the warm sands of picture-perfect Wailea Beach.

Relax at our adults-only 4,850-square-foot Hibiscus Pool, named for our state flower which is represented by a giant hibiscus flower made from over 630,000 pieces of Mexican glass mosaic tiles inlaid at the bottom of the pool. The entire pool contains over 2.2 million individual tiles and features two Jacuzzis, private luxury cabanas, and poolside casabellas. This pool is reserved for guests 18 and older.

Wailea Canyon Activity Pool

Spend the day in this epic 2,000-foot-long, 25,700-square-foot, 770,000-gallon pool area that consists of nine individual pools oversix different levels. Fit for the whole family, this pool features seven waterslides, six waterfalls, a lazy river, caves, a Tarzan rope swing, three Jacuzzis, a sand “baby” beach, a swim-up bar, and more.

Outdoor Lava Tube Slide

Prepare to be exhilarated with a 3-story drop slide splashing into our Wailea Canyon Activity Pool.

The Lava Tube Slide boasts:

  • 262 feet of slide
  • 14-second ride
  • 30-foot/3-story drop
  • 360-degree turn
  • Up to 22-miles-per-hour speeds

Cabanas

Whether you're looking to relax by the pool or enjoy a serene beachfront experience, indulge in the privacy of our luxurious cabana or casabella options. Reservations are required in advance, either at booking or during your stay and available to our Grand Wailea guests and Kūlana Members at both our Hibiscus and Activity Pools.

Wailea Beach

Just steps away from our property is Wailea Beach, rated one of the best beaches on Maui and one of the top beaches in the world. Spend your days relaxing in the Hawaiʻi sun with beautiful views of Pacific Ocean. And in the evenings, enjoy breathtaking Maui sunsets. A limited number of folding beach chairs are available at the beach to hotel guests on a first come, first serve basis, while further enhancements, such as beach chaise loungers and beach umbrellas can be booked at the link below.

For Your Safety

Pools and decks are reserved for registered guests only. All guests need to be registered at time of check in, no additions or name changes will be permitted after check in.

To ensure the availability of our pool/beach services and shade, we endeavor to accommodate all guest requests and preferences. Please visit the Activity Pool Desk or Hibiscus Pool Desk for more information.

  • Wristbands are required in order to be in and around the pools. Should you remove your wristband, the original must be returned in order to receive a replacement.
  • Guests leaving belongings longer than 1 hour will have items removed to a secured cabinet.
  • Keiki must be taller than 48" tall to ride the Lava and the Puka slides.
  • Up to 4 lounge chairs on the pool decks can be reserved at one time.

A limited number of folding beach chairs are available at the beach to hotel guests on a first come, first serve basis, while further enhancements, such as beach chaise loungers and beach umbrellas can be booked at a cost. One person must be present for every 2 chairs per room, up to a maximum of four per room (based on occupancy of room) to obtain these items on the beach and may do so at the Beach Cart near the Activity Pool.

As a directive from our State Department of Land & Natural Resources, we are not permitted to pre-set chairs on the beach, nor leave them unattended for longer than 30 minutes. All Grand Wailea equipment must be removed from Wailea Beach before sundown.

Discover Snorkel and Scuba Program

Learn the basics of snorkeling and scuba diving in this introductory course with our on-property partners at Dive Wailea, included as an amenity in your resort fee. During this demonstration, you will learn in the classroom as well as in our 10-foot deep dive pool and only resort-designated scuba training pool in Hawaiʻi. Participants must be 8 years or older. Dive Wailea’s professional instructors can also escort you on one of four ocean dives tailored to novice or certified divers.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding

Embark from Wailea Beach on an unforgettable journey across the tranquil waters of Wailea on a stand-up paddleboard, available to rent from our on-resort partner Aqualani.

Outrigger Tours

Grand Wailea celebrates one of the most revered Hawaiian traditions with our outrigger program with Maui Pacific Tours. Join us for an authentic Maui experience aboard a traditional outrigger canoe on a guided paddling journey down the golden coast of Wailea—Hawaiian for the “waters of Lea”, the goddess of canoe builders. With each dip of your paddle into these storied waters, take an unforgettable journey to rediscover yourself and the magic, beauty, and wonder of Wailea.

  • 2 Hour Snorkel Tour
  • 1 Hour Swim with Turtles Tour
  • All tours depart steps from our property from Wailea Beach.
  • Advance reservations required; limited seats available every morning.

Whale Watching

Every year, humpback whales return to the warm Maui waters in December and continue through May. See the whales in action via boat tour or simply from Wailea Beach. Tours depart from Mā‘alaea Harbor (appx. 25-minute drive from our resort) and are generally two hours long. Tours are offered throughout the day, but mornings generally offer better ocean conditions.

Outdoor Yoga

Welcome the beautiful Maui morning with an energizing hour-long beginner yoga session on Wailea Beach or Chapel Lawn. Classes take place daily. Reservations are required.
