What is our first step?
The Grand Wailea Resort can book Maui wedding
ceremonies seven days a week. We offer ceremonies
in the Chapel, the Chapel Gardens, the Gazebos
and by a beautiful Waterfall. After deciding on
a time frame, contact the Grand Wailea Catering
Department to check on the availability. Once
the date and time have been established for
your Hawaiian wedding, we will send you a
contract outlining the wedding services
selected. We require a 50% nonrefundable
deposit that will secure the date, time
and location. The contract must be signed
and returned to confirm the booking along
with a required 50% deposit payment.
How far in advance do we need to book?
We encourage you to book as soon as possible. Most
Hawaiian weddings book six months to one year in
advance of the ceremony. The sooner we are
contacted, the better we can accommodate your
request. As soon as you know the date and time, the
more chance you will have to secure the date and
time you want for your Maui wedding ceremony. However,
even if you decide last minute, please feel free
to call us about availability. We will always
try our best to accommodate you.
When do we need to make our guest room reservations?
Due to the popularity of the Resort, couples are
advised to make room reservations before confirming
the date of their wedding. You may contact
reservations at 800-888-6100 or check availability
on this website.
How do we contact someone about booking our Wedding or Reception?
In order to better serve you, our Catering department
asks that you fill out the Request for Information. When
it is completed click, ‘Submit’. Upon receipt of your
completed form the information will be reviewed and
you will receive an email linking you to an online
brochure for your review. A wedding specialist from
our Catering Department will be assigned to you and
will contact you directly from the information you
have provided on the form.
What services does the Wedding Specialist do for me?
The wedding specialist that is assigned to you will work
with you to see through every step of the wedding planning
process. Working closely with you, the specialist will be
your contact for all of the wedding ceremony and reception
arrangements. Together you will determine and design what
type of flowers, music, photographer, videographer and
clergy member you would like for your ceremony. Likewise, they
will work to help you create the design/décor and atmosphere
you see for your reception celebration. You can relax while
your specialist handles all hiring, ordering, confirmations
and coordination for everything to insure your day will run
smoothly.
How do we obtain a Marriage License?
The marriage license must be obtained from the state in
which you get married; therefore the marriage license must
be applied for in Hawaii. There is a marriage license
agent approximately 15 minutes from the resort. The
office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30
pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am - 11:00 am. The fee
for a marriage license is $65, cash only. Your wedding
specialist will be happy to assist in making your
appointment, or you may arrange the appointment
yourself by calling (808) 875-8459. Following are
the requirements: • The couple must appear together • Both
people must present a current photo I.D., such as a
driver´s license or passport. Appointments should
be made for the day after you arrive on the island. (Don´t
forget to bring your marriage license to the ceremony!)
Do we need to bring our own wedding attire?
t is recommended that the bridal couple bring their own
wedding gown and tuxedo or have it shipped to the resort
in advance. There is a formal wear shop close to the
hotel that can provide tuxedos for the gentlemen. For
an additional cost, the resort's professional Valet
Laundry staff can assist with any steaming or pressing
of the wedding parties attire as well. Please request
the service at least 24 hours prior to the ceremony. There
are shops on Maui that carry wedding gowns, formal and
informal gowns that are appropriate for bridal attire.
What is your payment schedule?
In order to confirm a date and time, a non-refundable
deposit of 50% of the total package price, along with
your signed confirmation letter, is required at the
time of booking your Hawaiian wedding. The complete
remaining balance is due 30 days before the wedding. All
major credit cards are accepted for payment. For travel
professionals, we do not offer discounts or commissions
for any wedding services.
Do we get a discount on rooms?
The Grand Wailea Resort offers a 20% discount off of the
published room rate for the bride and groom only based
upon availability (the discount does not apply during
12/20 through 1/1). In order to receive this special
discount, call Room Reservations directly at (800) 888-6100. The
Room Reservations department will require a two-night
deposit. Ask your wedding specialist about our
Reservations option that is now available. Our
EReservations system is a simple way for you to
create a personalized reservations website for
all of your guests to access when making their
guest room reservations.
